### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ UEFI (GPT) and MBR work perfect! Amazing little device
*by S***S on August 25, 2020*

I was skeptical that this device could emulate either MBR/GPT properly, and decided to give it a shot.Little did I know I was in for a surprise.Yes, the internal drive you insert into the device must be formatted as MBR, and it is entirely not related to how it mounts ISOs and VHDs. It's completely transparent. You can partition your VHDs however you want. MBR and GPT. Once mounted it will act like the format of the virtual drive! It's awesome! When you go through the whole "oh crap, it's not gonna boot!" in your head a dozen times, and it does, it's a great feeling. It'll boot EFI from your optical disc images as well. So that Hiren's Boot CD x64 Win10 will boot either on legacy boards and the newest ones. This still doesn't mean you can boot Windows 95 on a 3TB GPT-formatted virtual hard disk. The EFI(GPT)/MBR is completely transparent to the device when you have a virtual hard drive mounted. I hope this will answer the questions about that.If you are like me and use Virtualbox, it has a media manager dialog that allows you to create VHDs (and VDIs, the native format for VBox), well, that's also a treat. I personally use VHD format. You can create virtual media but you must put it in the "_ISO" folder on the root of your drive. Make sure it's not created as "Dynamic" because that won't work. You must create it as a "Fixed" size drive. You can remove the attachment then afterwards and VBox won't bug you about it. Just make sure you select to keep the related files when it asks! This will allow you to boot Windows/Linux/MacOS** Because you can technically install MacOS on a vhd you have previously created. Also: It claims you can mount your ISO and also your VHD at the same time. Just please DO NOT do this with a spinning mechanical drive. It'll be excruciatingly slow. You'll want to have an SSD for that kind of stuff. (i.e: You mount your windows10.iso and install it on windows10.vhd -- that'll bottleneck your HDD, and sometimes USB bandwidth.)When you run it as "dual mode", it allows you to have a mounted virtual disk (optical or HDD) as well as access to the drive inside simultaneously. It's freakin sweet. Now I haven't tested deleting or modifying a mounted image as I'm sure that'll blow up in your face. Don't do that!So long story short, this thing is an amazing device. I'm in the process of imaging all of my old USB sticks into IMAs so I can have every single one of them with me, and choose them when I need them.A++++++++++

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works better than expected for photocopier firmware updates.
*by C***O on February 13, 2020*

Great for IT techs. As a photocopier technician I use this to reload firmware on a variety of MFPs particularly Konica Minolta copiers. I can’t store all model’s firmware on a single flash drive so this is great, much better than a keychain of flash drives. I did however decide to keep encryption turned off for quicker boot.KM Copier firmware tips:-You must use VHD files renamed as .RMD so it appears as a flash drive to the copier.-Use it in Optical Disk mode not hybrid mode.-Mount only one image at a time.-Write protection must be turned off or otherwise the copier will try to use IPSW update mode that’s not what you want.-I made my own external power pigtail so I could power using a usb battery pack as the MFPs require powering on with device connected it doesn’t always mount quick enough using the MFP USB’s power. Pigtail is essentially a usb 2.0 extension cable with another male usb plug added for only power and ground, and disconnected positive of power on the data side of original male plug to prevent electrical damage. None of the pigtails you buy premade for external hard drives will be wired correct for the way I wanted to use this.-I still carry a usb flash drive in my tool bag in case I come across a very picky machine that won’t talk to this product but I haven’t found one yet.[^^^^^ this section of the review will not apply to 98% of you who are looking to use this product for its “intended” purpose. My use case is very particular and specific and I got lucky it worked for me, but I couldn’t find any info on my own without buying one and trying it out]Other review notes:-Works great to boot ISOs of anything you like.-Works with HDDs and SSDs nicely-User Interface is tricky to learn but consistent-Touch buttons work much better if you apply the screen protector material it comes with.-very high quality feeling usb3.0 cable included.-case is nice-easy to disassemble and install your own drive, tight fit which is good so it’s not rattling around nor do you need to wedge something in it to keep it from rattling.-don’t rely on manual too much, play with it and learn, but it’s one of the better manuals I’ve seen on a device like this.-learn the shortcuts of holding down specific numbers to unmount all etc.Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to get rid of a mess of usb flash drives and is also absolutely done rewriting ISO images to flash drives over and over. Keep multiple OSes. Keep multiple versions. Keep important software or distribution images.
