First off, you have to have an extreme amount of patience for this. It was painful for even me to do it. The arm that shoots the beads down seemed too short and I had to maneuver the template around to place the beads. The premise is that the beads all have straight edges to where they should theoretically connect, hence the problem of beads shooting out of the arm. I had to manually place them as much as they landed correctly. The unicorn template my daughter tried, that I had to do for her, is not really recognizable as such, although I did ask my daughter if she thought it looked like a unicorn and she said yes. All that being said, I wouldn't recommend this or buy it again. One could simply glue beads together for the same effect and much cheaper.
