## Description

Reed Diffusers have proven to be the most effective way to add scents to our living space. Simply place reed sticks into diffuser bottle, the oil will saturate into reeds, and as it wicks up the reeds, it will release the aroma into the air. To intensify fragrance, turn reeds up side down once a week. For best result, replace reed sticks once a month.

    These Work Well

**FYI: There may be some sellers here with bad reeds but the reeds I bought here are good. I bought my reeds from "dsbalic" & fulfilled by Amazon. It would be helpful to everyone if reviewers listed the name of the seller in their reviews. If you received bad reeds, please let Amazon know. I have received fake goods from sellers on Amazon in the past & reported it. Amazon took care of it. Amazon doesn't know unless we let them know.I had scent wafting in my room within an hour of putting these reeds in my oil blend. It seems some people are either getting bad reeds or perhaps the fragrance oil is not made correctly for reed diffusers; there are a lot of bad mixtures out there so buyer beware.First you have to use the correct oil or the reeds will clog & not pull the fragrance up to be diffused. The best base oils are Safflower & Sweet Almond Oil - don't use any other base oils because they will just plug up the reeds & not carry your scent to the top. Make sure to use high quality essential oils when mixing your own scent. I have even used perfumes that I don't like on me but smell good in a room. Many inexpensive store mixtures use cheap oils & the wrong kind of base oil. They put them in pretty packages & charge a lot but they sometimes do not work. Don't use any blends that use "dipropylene glycol" or "DPG" for the base oil as these will clog your reeds & not work. Read the ingredient list before you buy.I make my own fragrance blend for my reed diffusers. I use a very small bottle with a small opening. I have some glass roller ball perfume bottles that leaked so I put them to use as reed diffuser bottles. Any small glass bottle/vase will work. I put in a total of about 16 drops of essential oil & then fill the bottle with safflower oil (leaving some headspace for the reeds so it doesn't overflow). The essential oil should never be more than 50% of your finished blend; I actually go less than that. The base oil should be 50% to 75% of the finished blend. Some essential oils are thicker than others & if used too heavy, can plug the reeds. If they are really thick in the bottle (an example is good vanilla essential oil) they can plug if you use too much.Reeds need to be changed every 30 days or so & I usually flip mine every couple days or when I'm not noticing the scent anymore. The reeds should be about twice the height of your bottle. They can be cut in half if they are tall & your bottle is short. My favorite blend: 4 drops Lemon, 3 drops Sweet Orange, 3 drops Bergamot, 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 2 drops Vanilla, 1 drop Eucalyptus - sniff & adjust if needed, then add the Sweet Almond Oil & the reeds.I use "Aura Cacia" brand essential oils most often but there are other good brands like "Simplers Botancials", etc. It's really fun & less expensive in the long run to make your own blends with scents that you like.

There is defintiely something wrong with these reeds!!

*by J***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 21, 2015*

Let me start by saying that this item did arrive on time and looked like what I expected so I suppose this is more product feedback rather than aimed at the seller directly since I have not yet requested a return of refund, but that is not the problem! After extensively researching how to blend your own essential oil recipes to use with reed diffusers and spending $56.00 purchasing high quality essential oils. plus another $9.00 for a bottle of safflower oil to use as the base, I bought these rattan reeds because the price was right.Yesterday, I mixed my oil blend and put 8 (more than I should have needed) into the mixture expecting to have a wonderful scent drifting through the room within a few hours. I even made sure to turn the reeds over every hour for the first 4 hours. After an hour...nothing! After 2, then 4, then 24 hours...still nothing, even when I put my nose right up to the sticks! And, once I stopped turning them upside down, the top ends smell like dry toothpicks! I know it's not the oils I am using because my yoga instructor tried them in her aromatherapy diffuser and they were fabulous!I am going to try mixing in a tiny bit of alcohol as some recipes have suggested and see if that works, but if not, I will be returning these. I suppose I should have read ALL of the reviews before purchasing these, but I figured as long as they were the reed vs. bamboo sticks, how different could more expensive one be! Maybe this goes back to the old adage, "You get what you pay for."This is the first review I've ever written, and it hardly seems worth if for an item that cost less than $7.00, but I was so excited to try this and now feel my time was wasted. I'm thinking id it's just the quality of these reeds, possible my review will save someone else the time and disappointment involved with buying the same item.I like to give people the benefit of the doubt...possibly this seller (Oakland Gardens Wedding & Home Décor – another reviewer stated it would be helpful to include the seller’s info) has no experience with using this item and therefore has no idea that these reeds may be of inferior quality.

I’m using them to make my own home fragrance diffuser

*by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 22, 2018*

Plain rattan reeds. A decent bunch. I’m using them to make my own home fragrance diffuser <carrier oil (like almond or sunflower oil) + ~30drops of essential oil + few drops of alcohol (90% and more)>The number of rattan reed you use in the fragrance bottle is based on how strong you want the fragrance to be dispersed in the air.Furthermore, i've seen a lot of bad reviews. If I may, i want to clarify some aspects:- the carrier oil makes a whole world of a difference - if the molecules aren't small enough, it will not get carrier though the rattans fibers.- also, putting very little or "expired" essential oil will also not carry the amount of fragrance you need (do not keep the essential oil bottles near direct sunlight, in the bathroom, near a heat source). - the discoloration of the rattan is obviously normal and shouldn't be blamed on the seller. The carrier oil and essential oil make that happen.
