I hope that is allowed.A friend of mine owns the "hippest ultra-chic dive bar" in Mesa, AZ. The A/V system has had many problems for several years. The biggest customer complaint was the snowy picture and lack of clarity across the 8 televisions. Being a dive bar, these were not LCD's or Plasma TV's, all were CRT's. I had a budget of $200. The original setup was for Direct TV, DVD player, VCR and ROKU, an internet TV provider. These were all connected via 2-way coax splitters and two way switches. I removed about two dozen of the switches and splitters along with a couple hundred feet of coax when I started.The first part of my setup used the Cables To Go 28750 4x2 S-Video + Composite Video + Stereo Audio Selector Switch (Black) (purchased here). This product has 4 inputs with 2 outputs. Though the item doesn't mention it in the description, this switch is capable of converting S-Video to Composite and vice versa. This was handy because some of the source devices only had composite video out and I wanted to use S-Video coming out of the switch. I sent one of the 2 outputs to the A/V receiver, mainly for sound purposes but also to supply a monitor and digital projector.The other output went to the Belkin RF Modulator ( F8V3063 ) that I purchased here. Since some of the TV's only had coax input and the rest were already wired with coax, converting the A/V signals to coax was the most cost effective distribution method. I would have loved to use RCA audio and S-Video to all available TV's but the cables and additional distribution splitter/amplifier would have exceeded my budget. This RF modulator did the job quite nicely.From the modulator, the coax goes to the CHANNEL VISION C-0332 1 In / 16 Out Amplified Rf Splitter (also purchased here) and is then sent to the 8 televisions. I also added two additional TV's that are even further away from the splitter than the rest. I installed an "F Type 75 Ohm Terminator, Pkg/10" (purchased elsewhere) on every output that wasn't hooked up to a TV.With the use of the above products, I was able to achieve crystal clear picture on all of the TV's, even the ones at the end of long runs of coax. I highly recommend any and all of the above items as all have performed flawlessly so far, about a month as of this writing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellant low price device to connect modern HDMI to older TV's *by G***N on March 6, 2010* Like others that have reviwed this product, I recently upgraded to a new HD TV, and therefore needed to upgrade my DirctTV receiver to one that would receive HD signals. My home was wired from room to room with standard 75 OHM type cable and I had previously been able to use the standard 75 OHM round outlet on the old Direct TV receiver to send output from that receiver, by using a splitter, to all other TV's in all other rooms. However, the new Direct TV receiver, like many newer HD devices, does not have a standard 75 OHM or RCA output jacks. It, like many others, just has an HDMI output. There is no adaptor available that can convert an HDMI cable to 75OHM or RCA type cables, and the only way to do this is with a device similar to this one, and RF modulator If you shop around you will find them at many differant price points. The Radio Shack version is twice the cost of this one. This one is by far the least expensive, and based upon other reviews I decided to give it a try. It works great!!!!! The only thing I noticed, and I am not sure this is the fault of this device, is that my local network channels, which are broadcast via Direct TV, sound "distorted" when the TV's that are connected to this device are played at very low volume. All other Direct TV channels, sound just fine at any volume - but the local ones are distorted at low volume. If I turn the volume of the TV up a bit, the distortion goes away. I just thought I would mention that. ### ⭐ Horrible static noise!!! *by D***S on October 8, 2008* First of all, regardless of some good reviews, definitely don't buy this product. I would not even give one of these to my worst enemies.I was expecting the arrival of this device, after installing it and turning on my TV, I would keep hearing a lot of static noise, with just the video input connected to it. After adding the audio input, static noise continued the same.At first I thought it was because I had tons of equipment nearby and there would be some interference between them. Took to another TV set and took the modulator far away from every equipment. Still same results.If you are using this product only for video (leaving your tv muted or using other equipment for audio), then it should be ok, since the video quality is decent.If you are using an external antenna/cable/satellite on the Ant Inn, and wants only to use channel 3 or 4, don't expect other channels to have nice quality (specially between channels 1 - 7, which were barely watchable with huge static noise).
