I understand you don't recommend mounting it to a ceiling. BUT: does it have a tip over switch?** A: It has to be mounted to the wall. So tip over is irrelevant. I am disappointed in this product . It only heats an area about 4 ‘ from the unit. I am past my return date and am stuck with it **Q: If power is interrupted will unit automatically be on when power returns?** A: Yes, the power switch is a mechanical switch, not a button. If the switch is physically in the ON position at power loss, as soon as power is restored, it will be on once again. The included thermostat has a mechanical temperature selector, and thus will also immediately return to normal operation **Q: Can this be used in 12x16x8 dog kennel w/ extension cord?? Kennel is insulated very well, and no risk of getting wet.** A: I would say yes as long as it never would get wet including any humidity or condensation. But keep in mind if it’s not well insulated it won’t do much as the heat would be lost quickly. Also I have a 200sq ft room and I would say it works okay but would work better with maybe a 150sq ft room or less. **Q: We have been using this product for 3.5 months but it still releases the smell. Is that smell safe? Any method to clear the smell?** A: I painted mine to match the color of the room that it is in and have not noticed any bad smell. Had to cover 15x19 room 285 sqft had 2 400w covers 240 sqft replaced one 400w to a 600w covers a total of 320 sqft -19 degrees holds temp at 72 degrees up 2 degrees 2 400w holds it at 70 degrees with a fan next to one 400w panel. The 600w panel replacement holds it 72 degrees without using a fan. Outside temperature above 32 degrees panel efficiency goes up where it will bring up temperature up to +76 degrees as outside temperature goes down below 32 efficiency goes down outside temp at -15 panel held at 70 degrees furnace went on 3 times over night to hold 74 degrees without panels furnace will go on every hour spending 4-5 gallons per 24 hrs big savings my last fuel delivery 150 gallons for $960 my electric bill using 4 panels with other electric use $250 per month at maximum use. I told my other elderly friends to look into it a lot of them out there needs heating help. One more thing that accessory heat shield panel to increase efficiency is bullshxt. A Great Company To Deal With... ### ⭐ Failed twice in 2 years *by D***W on November 20, 2021* Bought this to heat the theater room in my basement. So long as I kept the doors shut it would heat it perfectly. except for the smell of course. It is real, something between a chemical and cow manure smell. The smell slowly fades, but after 2 years it still slightly smelled like a cow pasture was next door. I was planning on painting it to see if that would help. Besides the smell, the switch on the panel burnt out after about 6 months. I pulled the switch out and bypassed it since it would be regulated by the thermostat power switch anyway. It worked that way for another year, and then stopped suddenly. I pulled the back panel off again and found out that a wire about an inch inside of the ceramic had burned through and had burned a hole in the plastic as well. Not sure how dangerous this was, but it seems like it could of been a fire hazard.
