The dielectric material is thick, each hole is thru-plated with gold, and the printing is high quality. Also, the price is very good. It's so nice to see an item like this that has a reasonable price, but the manufacturer has not cut any quality corners. IMO, that's too-often a rare thing. I've used this same type of circuit board (from a different manufacturer) for over 5 years to fabricate many permanent circuits. Since this board has the same layout as a solderless breadboard, it's extremely convenient. If the circuit is complicated, I first build the circuit on a solderless breadboard. I get it working, and I optimize the device layout. Then, for each circuit module on the solderless breadboard, I duplicate the devices and wiring, exactly, to this type of board. By building the circuit on the soldered board one circuit module at a time, I can easily locate and correct errors. When I bought my boards, they were only available in blue, black, and red. I bought the blue color. IMO these should also be available in white. The white color would not alter the color of anything mounted on the board. This is important if a person is looking at, for example, a resistor color code. With the white color, he can easily see the difference between a blue stripe and a violet stripe. Once you finalize the project you can use the same layout and solder it onto these boards. Components need to be soldered to these. **Q: What would the max rated current be for these things? i wanted to use it to drive led lights** A: If you are trying to drive a regular LED in the milliamp range it should be no problem..trying to pull amps is not a good idea. The traces have a very low resistance and should not generate enough heat to cause a problem for currents of LED level. This is kind of a generic answer to a question with few specifics on the circuit design. **Q: What is the maximum current that I can run through just the traces?** A: You could beef up the traces with solder and/or wire if you needed big currents. **Q: Can an ic or other dip package straddle the center space easily?** A: Yes, it's designed for a DIP package, that is what I have been using it for (0.300"). The boards are rigid and well made with split ground and power tracks on both sides which makes it easy to implement circuits with two different voltages. The boards also hold up well to desoldering and re-soldering if you need to fix mistakes which I like.
