The Parker '5th' system is a resurrection of the felt-tip pen housed in a tip that looks like a fountain pen. It's way more convenient that a fountain pen, although without the super-smooth feel of a rolling-ball tip pen. I've found that, over time, the line of these pens gets wider - so unless you want a really wide line, the fine point is the only way to go. Unlike a fountain pen, the tip is rigid enough to use on paper that makes copies via pressure, and the pens have a nice balance and look, without the hassles of the ink in a conventional fountain pen. The black work well too, but I find black tends to be stark and prefer blue for most times I want to sign my name or use a pen.
