We have completed 3 rooms totaling 300 square feet and we have just over 1 quart left. We were happy with the color achieved after 1 coat, so we elected not to do a 2nd. Super-easy to apply... we used a paint brush to draw the finish about 6 inches from the baseboard, then a paint roller to apply the rest and feather over the paint brush areas. We averaged just 15 minutes per room applying Bona Amber Seal. **Q: DO I need to sand the floors first?** A: Yes. Floors need to be stripped of any topcoats... varnish, polyurethane, shellac, etc. They then need to be sanded down to bare wood so that the Amber Seal can penetrate the wood pores. Once the Amber Seal is applied, a new topcoat such as Bona Traffic HD needs to be applied as a final surface. This process is not unique to Bona products; it would be the same for any type of stain/sealer... oil-based, alcohol-based or water-based. **Q: What is the purpose of this product?
