The battery on my Olight flashlight burns out faster than I expected. The Wowtac is bright and compact and battery life lasts longer which I like better than the Olight flashlight, but the Olight is definitely brighter maybe that's why the battery power burn's out faster. I keep my Wowtac with me all of the time. **Q: Does it remember your mode setting? Or does it cycle through each mode when you press button?** A: PS: to cycle through the mode you have to do it your self and as I said it remembers the 3 of the 5 so if it’s on high an you turn it off and turn it back on it will be on high and so on until you use Strobe Or SOS . If you use strobe or SOS and turn it off and turn it back on it will automatically go back to high **Q: Does the included battery have overheating and short-circuit protection?** A: I don’t know. Looking forward to using it on a regular basis. The A5 is the largest and the W1 is the smallest. The brightness of all three is shown in a small bathroom at the highest setting sitting on a counter pointed towards the ceiling. All 3 provide similar and more than adequate brightness. The W1 can easily be carried in a purse or keychain. The A7 would be perfect for a pocket clip or purse. The A5 is a beefy heavier model for people who like or need the extra weight to hold it steady. A note when charging the A7, depress the tail switch to turn it on PRIOR to plugging it in to charge. If you don't do this, it will give you the purple faulty charge indicator.
