I have also used to $50 meriwool mid weight base layer and did not find any difference in warmth, but Tesla is softer to the skin **Q: Whats the difference between heatlock, heat core, winter gear?** A: Seems like the heatlock and heat core are the same. They're a one color shirt but have the micro fleece lining, it's just one is a one shirt sale while the other is two shirts. I've never found the EXACT same tops but got another two in a different color last month that are just as awesome and then I got these two with the contrast colored piping and a pack of one top and one pair of bottoms.They are soft and warm, the seams with the ones with piping aren't as smooth but still comfortable. The ones with piping are not as long in the torso or sleeve arm length but they are JUST long enough. I am a 6ft 150-155 lb female with a 37 in inseam and it always boggles my mind that for TSLA brand I am a men's X-Large but they fit well.
