Silver fish can be gotten rid of by eliminating moisture from inside your house, so turn on your air conditioner, or smell the diazinon. Combat is the best for roaches now that chlordane is banned. Do not under use Combat or you will get the perception that it does not work. All that roaches are looking for is a drink of water, even by eating wet wood after termites have softened it up. Other water sources include the kitchen sink (and cupboards, they will pick up a snack), all bathroom fixtures, washer dryer, refrigerator, freezer, air conditioners (evaporator, even if it is in the attic), all window units, any leak in the roof, or any where else, pet water bowl, etc. If you live in a zero evaporation rate area, such as the Texas Gulf Coast your slab could sweat even if there is a vapor barrier installed underneath the slab. (Silver fish are looking for the wet slab because they eat carpet and rugs.) As for roach bait usage here are some guide lines: kitchen-7-10, bathrooms-3-5, ac-3-5, other rooms-2-3, garage minimum 4. Before you place the individual baits write the date on the bottom or on masking tape, top or bottom. The baits do not have a top or bottom as far as the roaches are concerned. (On average they are dumber than sheet rock.) Currently one is being tortured in my kitchen, the dumb bastard. Replacement of ALL of the baits should be done immediately upon seeing the first healthy roach. Follow this timing rigorously, and with any luck you will only see two roaches per year for the rest of your life. For a small 3-2-2 expect to spend $70 to $100 on Combat every six months or so. **Q: does it kill germen roach** A: Kills them all, without remorse. **Q: As I was reading the instructions, it says that all 8 baits must be used at once. Is this true? What happen if I just use 3 or 4?** A: I don't use all 8 at once. I just put out 4 or 5 in different rooms and I have not seen any roaches in my home and I just bought it a year ago. :) I love Combat and will always use these.
