Review: Clears wine perfectly - Works just fine with mini jet Review: Great Product, Good Value - I was pleasantly surprised when I received 30 filters instead of 10. It is 10 packs of 3 filters. The cost at approximately a buck a piece was also very reasonable. I have been making wine for a while and a good tip as previously stated, you cannot have a lot of sediment if you are starting with #2 pads. Rack the wine every day for 3 to 4 days. When I run the wine through the filter, if it is not clear on the first run, then remove filters and rinse with cold water and run wine through the same filters again. This can be done up to 3 times, each time the wine will be a little clearer than the last. If after 3 times, ( based on 5 gallon batch )the wine is not clear enough, just use a second set of pads and it will be perfect on the 4th run. By the way, the pads are supposed to be soaked in water for 5 to 10 minutes prior to using the first time. Initially you will get water before the wine starts coming through so if that bothers you, then purge the water in a separate container. I make wine from various grape and fruit juices obtained from the grocery store. Wish I could post a picture with this review. ## Features - Refined Wine Filtration: #2 Polishing filtration pads support clarity and brilliance in wines aged 4–6 weeks, polishing them with a 1–5 micron pore size. Designed to help reduce haze and suspended solids, they prepare your wine for fine filtration or bottling. - Mini Jet Compatibility: Designed for the Mini Jet System, these pads offer an efficient and reliable filtration experience. They are ideal for home winemakers seeking high-performance equipment for intermediate filtration. - Sanitization and Soaking: Soak the pads in a solution of one quart of cold water with 0.75 grams of metabisulfite and 3.5 grams of citric acid (or substitute with lemon juice). Soak until the pads no longer float, ensuring they are fully saturated for optimal performance. - Balances Clarity and Flow: Achieves the ideal balance between thorough filtration and wine throughput, improving wine appearance without stripping flavor or aroma. These pads work well with red wines and heavier whites. - Three-Pack Convenience: Each pack includes 3 medium-grade filter pads, intended to be used together in a single filtration session. Ideal for polishing wines that need intermediate haze removal, preparing them for their final stage. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 569 Reviews | ## Images ![Mini Jet Wine Purifier Filter Pads 10-Count (Pack of 3), #2 Polishing Wine Filters for Sediment, Home Brewing Supplies, Wine Filtration System Accessories for Wine Starter Kit - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81r75YfQmhL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: What's the micron rating of the #2 pads? They are about 1/8th inch thick and three are needed for each filtering operation. They are thick matted paper. **Q: Does each pack have 3 filters?** A: Thank you for your inquiry. Each pack includes 3 filters. **Q: Are the filter pads plastic or are they paper (like coffee filter)?** A: They are a thick corrigated paper type filter. Not thin like a coffee filter.
