You grab the tire, give it the right twist, maybe a little thumb pressure, and it comes off. That’s how it’s always been. Tools are for people who didn’t grow up changing tubes in parking lots with bad lighting and worse attitudes. So when someone handed me a set of these bright yellow Pedro’s levers, I rolled my eyes so hard I nearly threw out a contact. “Try ’em,” they said. Fine. Whatever. First thing I notice: they’re sturdy. Not that brittle, dollar-bin plastic that snaps the second it sees a tight bead. These things feel like they were molded out of something with actual backbone.
