It's got some serious weight to it and feel sturdy. The weight base is great to prevent knock overs. As others have mentioned the only weakness is the lid which is a little awkward but manageable (I admit I've got a big nose and can still readily drink from it). It'll keep your coffee warm for 1-2 hrs tops but I bought it to enjoy the taste over a stainless steel tumbler If you want something that'll keep coffee piping hot for 2-3 hrs get a stainless steel tumbler. It's good for short car trips but for a long hauls it won't keep liquids hot 2+ hrs (lukewarm at best).
