## Description

Also referred to as water chestnut powder, or water chestnut flour, the product is extracted from water chestnut (Eleocharis dulcis). The resulting flour (starch) is a slightly coarse looking, greyish color used as a thickener which also adds a sheen to the liquid. It is also used as a coating for frying and it adds a crispy texture. Chestnut flour does not blend in water as easily as corn starch and is not the same as "chestnut flour" made from tree chestnuts.

Review: Not edible - Not even sure it was water chestnut flour. It did not absorb water, the socca flatbread came out of the oven as a jelly like glue. It was not edible. Threw away the bread and the rest of the box of flour. Complete waste of money. Also box contained a warning label - Cancer and Reproductive Health, ca.gov.

**Q: Is this 100% pure water chestnut starch? I am looking for 100% pure. Cornstarch, tapioca starch, wheat starch, potato starch are too chewy cooked.**
A: It is. This product is much cheaper at local Asian grocery stores

Not even sure it was water chestnut flour. It did not absorb water, the socca flatbread came out of the oven as a jelly like glue. It was not edible.
