Pro Tapes Pro 603 flame retardant. Short term, high temperature resistance. Outdoor use. Highly conformable. Good chemical resistance; good solvent resistance. UV Resistant. Good abrasion resistance. Pipe wrap tape roll with PVC backing. Highly resistant to sun, water, oil, acids and corrosive chemicals. It is used for insulating, protection and color coding of electrical wires; for wire harnessing in automotive industry.

Review: Very nice product. Quite happy with it. - Really nice stuff. Original mini-split lineset covering (not this brand at all) was flaking off big-time after a few years. Used as a 2nd layer over new thin black lineset tape. Good price too. Has been in-place all summer and is not peeling.
Review: Don't Use to Wrap a Line Set for a Mini-Split AC - This tape sticks extremely well to itself but not to other things which is great for wrapping pipes , wires or cables which don't compress. It has just enough stretch to allow for a smooth wrap. An the 3" wide tape reduced the number of windings to cover a length of cable. These traits make it terrible for wrapping the very soft insulated line set tubing for a mini-split; which is what I wanted to do. The tape really sticks as you pull it off the roll as you wrap the line set. It made a very nice smooth wrap. But after about 2 ft I noticed that the wrapped line set looked much smaller in "diameter" than the unwrapped insulated line set. I squeezed the wrapped section and immediately felt the hard copper tubing. So I unwrapped the 2 foot section wondering what I should do. I finally looked at the bottom of the line set box and found 2 rolls of line set tape provided by the manufacturer. This tape did not have any adhesive, so you need to use good adhesive tape to hold it to the line set where you start the wrap. It wrapped easily around the line set and did not crush the soft insulation. Just had to tape the end to hold it in place. Even though it was non-adhesive it stayed in place after pulling it and 1/2" watertight flex conduit through 16 ft of 3"x4" downspout. The downspout is watertight; much better than the snap together line set covers.

**Q: Is this a good choice for taping outdoor, exposed, black plastic corrugated drain pipe?**
A: It would probably work, but don't think it would be cost effective.  This tape is for wrapping foam insulation around exposed exterior water pipes to keep them from freezing and bursting in cold sub freezing temperatures.

**Q: Does it insulate outdoor water pipes?**
A: NO.  It is commonly used to wrap pipe insulation.  I use it outdoors to wrap around the pipe insulation on my HVAC pipes.  It provides very effective UV protection for the pipe insulation and prevents the insulation from splitting open.  It extends the life of the pipe insulation and increases it's thermal effectiveness by keeping it intact.

**Q: Will this tape seal a galvanized pipe with a hole in it?**
A: I certainly would not trust it under pressure.  Think of it as wide electrical tape.

**Q: Can this be used on pvc out in the sun, to protect from uv damage?**
A: This tape does hold up against UV damage and will prevent damage to PVC.  That said, you can buy PVC with UV protection and it may be more economical.  You should be able to find it at a irrigation pipe dealer or possibly special order from HD.

The tape does what it says it does. I wrapped the split A/C lineset with this and it's been exposed to sun/rain and it has held up well.
