The love development between Sam and her best friend Ellis was sweet and intense. The reconnection between Sam and her Grandma Lou was sweet and poignant. The backdrop of the Women’s Professional Baseball League back in the 40s and early 50s was totally enthralling. All the details were wonderful. The love story between Lou and Charlie was sweet and lovely. So was the story between Sam and Ellis. A story of finding out about Sammantha's long lost grandmother and why she hard to leave. Finding out who Sammantha really is and the feeling she has for her closest friend and finding out that sometimes you have to follow your heart even if the results aren't what you who I'll like! It is told as Sam and her best friend Ellis take a trip to find out about her grandmother who has just passed away and leaves everything to Sam if she'll make this trip to meet her our friends. And along the way find out about her reasons for leaving and why it isn't wrong to be yourself even if it isn't what your family always wants! A very good story and so captivating that I wasn't able to put it down, I thing anyone who has read any of the other books by Syd Parker will really enjoy this one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A straight forward romance novel *by D***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 11, 2014* There no surprises here. Everything that happens in this book is predictable from the start, but I say that not really meaning it as a criticism. This is a great story seasoned with bits of history. I enjoyed the slow burn between the two main characters. I though it was pretty cute that everyone could tell they should be together when they themselves were plagued by fear and denial.My only real critic is one that concerns Lou's attempts to contact Sam. If she so desperately wanted to be a part of Sam's life why not try to contact her when she turned 18? At 18 Samantha would have been free to make her own decisions about her grandmother.
