I have had no problems with the sponge holder not having any holes in it as it is my custom to wash out the sponge as best I can at the end of each washing. I so love this dispenser that I have reordered four of these over a period of time to give as gifts from my trip when I return home to the Caribbean. I fill it with undiluted dish-washing liquid and maybe with the very first pumps the liquid does not come out but after about 4 pumps voila! It's a breeze. Like I said before I hold sponge in my right hand and pump with my left. **Q: Can you fit two sponges in the sponge holder at the same time?** A: I use my dispenser for mouthwash and little tiny cups fit in the sponge holder, so I am only guessing at this. It's made very poorly and cheaply and the end faces straight out so if you press it a little too hard you got a shot of liquid all over you and look like you Jenna Jameson after a shoot. I already bought it so I left it in place because I'm too busy to run around dropping boxes off to be returned and it was cheap enough and this kept happening for another few week until it completely broke all together.
