I have been making my living recording for 2 decades. This is the most versatile mic I've ever used. More articulate than a 414 ULS. Flatter than the super bright Sino imports you find at GC. It is an all around workhorse, suitable for lead vocals (male or female), guitar cabs, acoustic guitars... Seriously! I've used this thing on gospel choirs, floor toms, metal lead vocals, female pop vocals and Marshall stacks.What makes it so great? It's built to withstand a nuclear detonation. It has a pad for mega loud sources, roll offs for boomy and trebly sources... AND an air lift that gives the mic a beautiful air bump for females or woodwinds. It's noise floor is quieter than anything out there. Even with pads and eq engaged. It can do Omni and cardioid sources. And all the while, it never gets harsh, brittle, mushy or boxy.It's not a mic that looks like a cartoon character. It's not painted gold. Doesn't have a tube in it. It doesn't scream FAKE BLING. What it IS is the most versatile mic I own in a locker that can have any mic it wants. They are always on the main room floor waiting to be put into action.
