Review: Dark. Bold. Luscious. - As a person used to buying flavor extracts like Vanilla that comes in small bottles, I was pleasantly surprised to see the near quart size bottle. The extract is dark, rich, thick and bold in flavor. I was excited to try this Trablit coffee extract with my Pierre Herme French Macaron recipe. The flavor is extremely strong on its own, a mere tablespoon is what I used for my recipe and WOW, the taste is a luscious coffee flavor. I might try using this in milkshakes or sodas for a boost of coffee flavor! Individuals on the fence about buying due the cost; it's not expensive at all considering the large amount you receive. My purchase arrived perfectly packaged. I highly recommend.

**Q: Can this be used in chocolate (couverture) ? Water based flavors can't or the chocolate will seize. Thanks.**
A: It's not overpriced, it's very concentrated and very huh high quality flavor.  You would not use this with chocolate in its simple form, only powdered coffee flavors would be acceptable.  Although it works quite well with emulsions such as ganache.

**Q: I'm looking for ideas on how to use this.  Recipes anyone?**
A: Trablit Coffee Extract, which can be purchased online and and some specialty kitchen/baking retailers, is definitely one of the best and most flavorful coffee ingredients you can have in your kitchen. The French “extrait de cafe liquide” is not your typical extract; it’s simply coffee, no alcohol or anything else to dilute the flavor. The ingredients include dry coffee, water and sugar, and the mixture is cooked until it is very concentrated and syrupy. The result is an intense coffee flavor (you would never know that there was even a bit of sugar but for the fact the extract has a relatively smooth, not bitter, aftertaste) that easily infuses into just about anything, whether you’re making a chocolate sauce or coffee-flavored muffins. One small bottle will last for a long time because you don’t have to use much to get the results you want.  We used Trablit in a couple of the pastry kitchens I’ve worked in. Awesome stuff; so pleased to see a review of it. More home cooks should know about and use this stuff. Just a squirt or two in vanilla pastry cream gives the best coffee pastry cream, ever. We also used it to flavor a caramel-based custard for a play on cappuccino. Great. Now I’m drooling a little :)

**Q: Can I use this to just make a cup of coffee? Seems like a concentrate would work for camping, just add to hot water?**
A: yes you could add hot water
