We can't shoot them with a bb gun, cause some neighbor will call the cops. We can't knock the nest, well cause that is brutal. So we will try every trick and suggestion to keep the pesky birds at bay. I've been through spikes, through owl statues, owls that bounce heads and make sounds, none really effective. (The owl statue created more problems, cause now a live owl thinks it has found a mate! But that is a separate review!)This tape rocks! It creates a glare from sun so strong, it still burns my eyes 15ft away. I've tied shorter pieces to the inner tree branches, to my shed, to railings and fence...anywhere I've seen the bird hang out. So far I think the noise and shining glare has distracted them! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Actually works! *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2016* I was skeptical when I bought this but for how cheap it was I thought I'd give it a try and boy am I glad I did! I live in a small apartment home with a balcony. I love succulents and any tree or plant that produces flowers, well, so do birds apparently. A week after I replanted my desert roses and 30+ succulents I come out to find my balcony utterly destroyed with all the plants uprooted. Devastated, I researched how to scare them away but didn't want a clunky owl or something outrageous expensive Jus to scare away birds and ducks (I live by a lake) this tape really does work! I've had it for over a week And my desert rose is finally starting to bloom(they would take the flowers off before they could even bloom) if you're skeptical as I was about this product definitely give it a try-you might be surprised how well it works for you too! ### ⭐⭐ Did not work for our Woodpecker/Flicker Problems *by C***9 on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2017* The scare tape did not work well for our woodpecker/flicker problems.While this brand did last longer than the other two scare tape brands we tried, pieces break off easily so you will have to replace regularly. See attached picture for comparison of three brands and how much had broken off in one month.In trying this we also discovered that the wind by our house is often calm in the mornings when the woodpeckers were most active. Without the wind blowing to make the tape move the birds would peck at the house regardless of the tape being there. In the end we had to resort to installing metal bird spikes.
