I wired the timer's input (+12 V and GND) to terminals on the alarm that output 12 volts when the alarm triggers. I connected the Normally Open contacts (NO and COM) of the timer to the sensor inputs on the I/O Linc (GND and Sense). See pages 5-7 of the I/O Linc PDF manual. When the alarm triggers, the relay on the timer closes and opens and this signals the I/O Linc to turn an Insteon "scene" on and off and all the lights controlled by the devices in the scene flash.The timer as it comes from the factory, only allows the shortest "off" time to be about 2.5 seconds, too long for my application. I wanted my lights to flash on and off at about 1 second intervals. The "on" time can be set to 1 second via the "Pulse" potentiometer. However to get an "off" time of one second I had to place a 22k ohm resistor across the terminals of the "Pause" potentiometer (as pictured). Another option would be to replace the Pause pot with the same value pot as the Pulse pot (47k ohms).
