If you do not know what is so special about the TSA Approved Locks they are simply the ones that everyones says to start buying now do to the :United States " TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION "These can be opened without you there to inspect to everything that you should not take on Airplanes , Buses , Trains And Ect . it is for your safety and every ones . They have the right to check any bag , Tote Ect. with or without you there . This way it is faster , Easier for everyone . If you do not have one of these locks they will just cut or tear into what they need to check and you and everyone else will be delayed . Also they will not cover any damage for this if it happens to you . Yes you could use other locks some do but they seem a little more happy to destroy those if you ask me .This one is a good starter lock it is TSA Approved and you can even change the code . It is metal so it should stand up to everything that you throw at it . I'm forever hunting for the keys once I get to my location so this will save me some time. I also like that I can set my own combination code & that it seemed fairly easy to do. It fits through my luggage zippers & locks good. The only problem I have with it is it seems flimsy in comparison to others I've tried. I also felt like it was not a smooth roll in changing the numbers for the combination. I'm not sure how long it will last as it doesn't seem very sturdy so that's why I gave it only 3 stars.
