The camalapse is not variable in time, so the 60 minute mark would rotate a full 360-degrees, while the 30 minute mark would only rotate at 180-degrees. You can speed up the camalapse by using two at a time, on top of each other. **Q: Since it has mounts on top and bottom, if you flip it upside down will it rotate in the opposite direction?** A: The top part rotates in one direction. If one were to turn it upside down, the part that rotates would be fixed to the mount making it possible for the bottom to rotate in the opposite direction. I haven't tried this to test it out though. **Q: Is that Waterproof???** A: I wouldn't call this a waterproof device, however in light rain it should work fine. **Q: If I just buy this product can I already attach my phone to it? or do I need to buy a stand for my phone that attaches on top of that screw?** A: It has a standard 1/4" threaded mount screw. So unless your phone has such a relatively large threaded receptacle, yes you need a mount that would fit a tripod for instance. Worked fantastically. I have an iPhone 6s and use an adaptor to mount iPhone to camalapse and then mount camalapse to tripod (which gives much flexibility for capturing shot desired...height, angle, tilt, etc). I like how I can set camalapse at 90 degree pan for 15 minutes or 180 degrees for 30 minutes or anywhere in-between. 360 degree pan (one hour) would be great on top of building or mountain Looking forward to experimenting when weather cooperates. I heard you can purchase a second one to stack on top another and will pan twice as fast, but I don't see that as necessary if you have a editing program where you can adjust video speed in post. Overall, great product, easy to use, portable, light, and compact. The down side is that its cheaply made. At this price you should expect all plastic construction, and that's exactly what you get. However, it's not a hard plastic as you might imagine. Rather, it's fairly soft and therefore somewhat flexible. Therein lies the biggest downside. Even when mounted on a tripod, camera shake becomes an issue simply because this flimsy product is now sandwiched between your expensive tripod and your camera. I use a fairly lightweight, mirrorless camera but I'm still cautious about using it in conditions where camera shake could be an issue. It's still a worthwhile purchase though, as long as your conscious of it's limitations. Honestly, the effect is very cool and for the price it's worth owning. If this is something you plan to use on a regular basis however, you might consider one of the more expensive electronic time lapse panners. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars portable simple well built and affordable. *by J***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2015* I've used this so far for about a month. All during winter. In the white mountains first and more mountains in southern NH just the other day. I've used it on ice for more than an hour. I've used it in Boston on wet streets. It's gone through three blizzards during which I took multiple time lapses, if anyone is from the NH area this January-February has seen more than 30" of snow here. The thing has been dropped into said snow a ton of times and also a creek. This is a pretty tough little piece, very transportable and very affordable. Many of my friends are photographers and they have a ton of expensive equipment they haul around and it takes a long time to set up, as well as being expensive and electronic, therefore not ideal for bad weather. While I'm not a Professional photographer like they are, I also am not carrying around expensive dslr cameras and rails and motors for long exposures and time lapses, my Gopro and little Camalapse get the job done. One thing that is a bit annoying is that a good timelapse goes over the period of hours not one hour, so as to observe the rapid progression of time. An hour is not a lot of time so sunrise/sunset would be the best times to shoot with it in my opinion. With this you only can do maximum one hour, and a 360 degree revolution in that hour. It does look really cool, however, to see this slowly pan during an hour long timelapse and as I said the price is great and portability is great and quality as well. Some people complain about its noise in other reviews, since it is an egg timer type of mechanics and the ticking during operation would be expected. I for one can't see how else this could be built so simply and affordably, and appreciate its simplicity. If this was an electronic device the thing would cost hundreds and also most likely already be broken. I also enjoy the ticking, it reminds me of a metronome. So I just start a little beat in my head and tap my feet to it. Not much else to do while filming a timelapse in winter and it helps keep me warm to move. Also you could try walking away from it... just saying.Obviously I do recommend this for anyone looking at these reviews. For people that day theirs only worked twice, they were somehow defective or its a user error because your turned it too hard or it was a manufacturing issue.As I mentioned I use it with a Gopro, and it's the smallest lightest model (hero) so you know nothing over five pounds will work and especially if it's not balanced even weighted device.
