Review: Perfect for My VoIP and Retro Computer. Adapter that just works! - Hello there! I bought this power adapter back in February 2026 and have been using it every day since then. It powers my VoIP adapter and sometimes my MSX computer console without any problems at all. It gives the exact 12v 2amp power output I needed and has been very reliable. The extra long 8 foot power cord cable is also really useful because it gives more flexibility on where to place devices. For the price, this is a great value and it simply works.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the barrel 5.5 mm X 2.5 mm, or 5.5 mm X 2.1 mm? The picture says the inside diameter is 2.5 mm, but the product description says it is 2.1 mm.**
A: 5.5 mm X 2.1 mm

**Q: Will this work for the Motorola Surfboard modem?**
A: Most all Motorola modems are rated 12V 750mA, so this, assuming the connector size and polarity match should be fine even if it's a rare one @ 1A. Amazon does list several power adapters for Motorola modems, so do a search for one specific and, perhaps cheaper.

**Q: Has anyone used this for a gardepro a3 trail camera?**
A: Type : Regulated switching power supply with 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug , center positive
Pls kindly check if the connector fit or not before purchase.

**Q: Has anyone successfully used this as a replacement for the 12v/1.5a motorola/arris surfboard sbg6580 modem/router?**
A: If the spec. are the same as for your needs, and the connection fits it should work. if not send it back.
