They don't work when you need them to or you have to shake them or something and the "flick" button is too much for me to deal with; I'm over using those ridiculous gadgets. Also, those plastic lighter things are throw-aways as in ...nobody gets them refilled Back to this product; I bought a batch about two years ago and recently realized I was fresh out of matches...so of course I'm buying more of the same quality item. Books of matches are okay, but pretty flimsy compared to these sturdy matches. I don't know about anyone else, but when the power goes out or I want to light a candle the last thing I need in my life is a flimsy book of matches or an aggravating plastic lighter stick that decides to get problematic on me.
