Personally, what sold the mouse for me was the optical sensor; I loved my 2014 Naga but I was considering getting an optical mouse purely for FPS games... then the Trinity came along and it's the best of both worlds! **Q: Will this keep the programmed buttons on other devices without razor software?** A: Yes, you can save your custom button profiles onto the mouse and use them on any other devices without Synapse and even cycle through them using the button on the underside of the mouse. However, you will still need Synapse to manage the profiles and some custom button functions will not work without Synapse installed. **Q: Can profiles on the Trinity be linked to specific programs/games so that it auto-switches profiles when I use a certain game or profile?** A: You need to have the Synapse software installed, but I use that functionality daily. When going back into a program/game, there is about a 4 second delay then a slight pause before it fully switches (I usually move the cursor around so I can see it stop when it switches, since the pause may make me misclick what I'm doing otherwise). Occasionally it won't switch (generally when I alt+tab in/out of the program), but I can just alt+tab out and back to get it working most of the time. In very rare cases it will stop switching completely and I will have to go into task manager to completely kill it before opening it up again to get it to work (though this only happens at most once a month) **Q: Are the side buttons cross compatible between the pro and trinity? the pro has 2, 6, 12 & the trinity has the 2, 7, 12. can i use the 7 with trinity?** A: Ye and no.
