Review: Has Design Flaw - I am 53 y/o and have a tear in my medial meniscus. I have been using a McDavid hinged knee brace for a couple of years while playing doubles tennis on clay courts. It has been fairly effective but I still feel some aggravation in my meniscus after play. I decided to try the Donjoy Fullstop. What appeals to me about this brace (as opposed to virtually every other hinged knee brace) is that it has 4 straps instead of 2 - which translates to more stability. The twisting and turning in tennis puts a lot of stress on the meniscus, and my knee felt great after playing until I played in a singles tournament, by the end of the tournament, I noticed the knee brace had slipped 4-5 inches down my leg. The next day I woke up with a sore meniscus. I believe the reason for the failure is because the second strap from the top goes behind the leg. If it were in front, the knee cap would prevent the brace from sliding down. If they can fix that, they’ll have a winner. ### ⭐⭐ Doesn't actually prevent hyperextension *by K***N on 31 July 2025* I bought this brace because I broke my tibial plateau on the inside of my knee and had to have surgery. Now that I have more mobility, my knee is hyperextending (which is how it broke in the first place) and even with months of physical therapy and MRI's, I have no answers to why it does it. So in order for me to have confidence in my knee when I'm exercising or at work, I need something to prevent my knee from buckling backwards. I found this and ordered it and it did not do what I needed it to. I can see how the brace is "supposed" to prevent the hyperextension, but even with a very snug fit brace, it did not prevent my knee from going backwards. This may be good for other issues, but not for that.
