This one checked out as accurate against all 3 tests.Additionally, it was better than my current thermometer as the longer probe on this one allowed me to get to the center of this big roast.On the negative side I was mildly bothered that each time I turned it on I had to put it into US/Fahrenheit mode as it defaults back to metric. The other suggested improvement would be an easier way to pop the probe out of its holding clip in the closed position, takes two hands for me.All in all a good and useful tool that appears trustworthy for use on important dishes. This thermometer is light weight in a good and not so good way. The plastic this is made out of makes it feel like it will easily break but it also makes it light weight for easy use. When you close the instrument it automatically turns off the only time the power button needs to be used is when you haven't used it in a little while. This thermometer also gives fast and accurate reading, I am happy with this purchase and very glad I don't have to cut my meat open to ensure it is done! I recieved ths product at a discounted price for my honest review. ths review is 100% honest and my own. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast kitchen thermometer at a good price *by M***I on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2015* I have purchased 5 cooking thermometers in the past 4 years. I use them for grilling (only way to grill meats) and for home brewing.For grilling, it is important that the thermometer reaches stability quickly. For brewing, the thermometer needs to be resistant to water damage. It is likely to get wet.From my research, the ultimate is the Thermopen. It reaches stability in about 2 seconds. However, it is very price prohibitive at around $100.The Orgodelight Digital Instant Read Kitchen Thermomenter works well. It is a jackknife design, so the probe folds away for protection. When opened, the thermometer activates. There is an on/off button, but I never use it.One very nice feature is the hold button. There are times when you take a temperature reading in an awkward position to see the display. The hold button allows you to read the temperature and hold the value in the display after removing the thermometer.I tested the Orgodelight with a pan of water. I used 4 thermometers. The Orgodelight was the second fastest at achieving a stable temperature at 7 seconds. All 4 thermometers showed a different temperature (73.0, 73.2, 73.4, and 73.8). the Orgodelight measured 73.2, so it seems fairly accurate. Two of the thermometers took over 30 seconds to stabilize, so the Orgodelight is fast.I then boiled some water to retest. The Orgodelight took about 8 seconds to stabilize at 213.4 degrees. Very fast, but slightly off on accuracy. My other high speed thermometer read 212.1.The handle of the Orgodelight feels like cheap plastic. It takes a single AAA battery to operate, which was not included. The battery compartment is not sealed at all. One good dunking would probably ruin this thermometer. By contrast, my other high speed thermometer is rated for the dishwasher.For a high speed thermometer that is fairly accurate, I can recommend this thermometer. It is priced right, and is much faster than most of my thermometers. If this is your price range, choosing this thermometer will provide a less frustrating experience due to how fast it is.I will use it for grilling, but for brewing I need water resistance, so I will stick to my other thermometer, which was 40% more expensive.My review loses a star for making no attempt to seal the case.
