The installation was very easy and the tubing that came with my ice maker fit perfectly on this filter. I like that you are given a few mounting options for this filter. A: Yes, it is recommended that you turn on the faucet and flush the filter for 5 minutes after installation. The filter media has coconut shell activated carbon, so you may see black water while you flush.

**Q: Can the system reduce TDS?**
A: NO. TDS stands for total dissolved solids and is basically composed of inorganic salts and a small amount of organic matter. The system can reduce harmful substances while keeping beneficial trace elements but not for TDS.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Alternative w/ Extras

Been searching for a replacement filter for my LG fridge for some time now. Came across this brand and decided to take a chance. It’s the same size as the original LG filter (model ADQ736939). It’s easy to use out of the box and comes with all the extra fittings needed for most applications. Includes:- - Very simple, straightforward instructions - 1/4 npt fittings - Quick connect fittings - 1/4 hose - Two (2) different sets of wall mounts And of course the actual filter lol. I used the quick connect option as that was how my old filter was already set up. Both ends are labeled for in (supply) and out (going to the fridge) N.B. - connect the inlet side first and allow was to run through it for approximately 3-5mins. Then connect the outlet. After a few days filter works great and no leaks from the quick connect sides. I’ll see how long it lasts. After a few months I’ll be able to give a better update in terms of durability and the taste of the water coming out of the fridge, for now it’s working great. Would recommend trying it if you’re looking for an alternative to the original LG filters.
