## Description

Review: Buy the best for top results - The fire bricks in my wood furnace were cracked and loose and on the border of crumbling (see pic); so instead of hiring a contractor and having to wait a long time and pay a lot, I decided to tackle this on my own. I followed the instructions exactly and the results were fantastic. All of the firebricks are now secure and the cement cured properly. Just follow the instructions and don’t let the fire get too hot too fast. I used a silicone spatula to apply the cement as that gave me a lot of flexibility to work between the ridges and cracks of the firebricks. I had plenty of product left over, even with two applications.
Review: It works! Filled in beginning crack and holding up - I put on a light coat. Then I had three or four small fires before a large fire. It’s holding up beautifully. I do see a little bit of indentation when the crack was, so I might try a second coat. My coat was pretty thin, though I did press the mortar in the crack itself. I am so thankful for this option that is clearly helping deter a beginning crack from widening or deepening. Use it at first onset of crack in fireplace panels.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: i want to build a forge so I can temper knives, would this work?**
A: It didn't work for me. I made a coal forge out of a steel barrel and used this to line it. It did not adhere to the steel and formed a fragile shell that shattered when bumped. Think of crumbled Pringles potatoes chips and you get the idea. Had to start all over.

**Q: Can i fill in gaps between uneven brick around a newly installed fireplace insert?**
A: I think you can, we use it around the bricks inside our stove and seems to work well but would probably let it cure at least 24 hrs prior to a fire. Not 100% sure it will work for what you need.

**Q: do i need to fix once it bubbles?**
A: Only if the bubbles bother you. They don't hurt anything. They are just ugly, so it depends on the location.

**Q: Can you use this to repair a broken shelf in a glass kiln?**
A: I’m not sure. I use it in my fireplace which can get up to 1800 degrees. The cement is like working with plaster of Paris. I’m familiar with kilns and I would feel confident using it if I was in your position. I would experiment in a small area first. Good luck! KG
