It may be used instead of a large chopping cleaver in kitchens, as well as outdoors chopping down trees. Aranyik is famous for it's rough, traditional design. This machete is not designed for the collector, and is an economical production designed for farmers, landscapers, and arborists, and other similar fields. The wood on the handle may need to be lightly sanded, and the edge may need to be honed. There may be small gaps between the handle scales and tang, and that is not structural, as this is a non-epoxy construction. I never do reviews. But this hybrid machete is an incredible buy. You will regret passing up on any of the Aranyik products. They are not always available and they are by far the best value I have ever come across. 5160 spring steel, hand crafted, multi- purpose tools like these are incredibly rare especially at these prices. This hybrid machete came extremely sharp with a strong working edge that stays sharp even after cutting and chopping. After what would dull the edge of any other machete or knife I own (especially at this price point) this thing shows almost no sign of wear and is still very sharp. I have other Aranyik products like the Latin machete and the E-nep. I especially like the E-nep, but they both already have a number of reviews. This Hybrid machete is a heavy well balanced chopper that feels good in your hand. If you had to pick one blade to do everything and your life depended on it. A camp axe? A heavy machete? But you only wanna carry one tool. Here it is, it will chop, it will cleave, it will crush garlic cloves, with skill and sharpening it can even slice, it is a great alternative to those expensive blades.and uses a time tested and trustworthy steel, and it is dying to be customized, i plan on a custom handle a sheath and a design on the blade. And for under 50$ its reasonable to make it your own.
