Review: Great device, slightly tricky setup process - This device essentially replicates any IR remote that you have lying around. By doing this, you can make any IR controlled appliance "smart". The Broadlink app works fine to get started, although I have moved to using the integration with Home Assistant.

I don’t have Alexa. But I use it for control and monitoring of my pellet stove when away from home. Nice to program in any IR remote. Nice to monitor house temperature, send alerts to my phone, and I can turn the stove off once it warms up outside, or on a couple hours before I get home. Sometimes the software quits and the only way to get it working is just mess with things long enough. There are servers from China and other places that seem to get mixed up. Also the signal is very weak and iffy unless you get much closer than the advertised range. Then it works great.
