## Description

Powerful 2000 lumen LED flashlight with Anduril UI, USB-C charging, IPX8 waterproof, versatile brightness modes, and long-lasting battery for outdoor adventures.

Review: Excellent torch and very good value for money - This is a Tube style flashlight and is very Slim and Sleek. The body is black with a silver ring around the sideswitch and has diamond shaped knurling around the body and tailcap which look and feel pretty good. The contents come in a branded box with a plastic insert that consists of 1 x flashlight 1 x user manual 1 x USB C charging cable 1 x pocket clip 1 x Sofirn branded 18650 3000mah battery 2 x spare O rings 1 x Lanyard This flashlight has many modes with a user interface called Anduril which is a little tricky to master at first but then great fun after that. Some of the modes include candle mode, bike mode and strobe modes to name a few but there is much much more and all modes are accessible via the single sideswitch using different number of clicks etc It is very bright for a single LED flashlight and is said to be 2000 lumens which seems very probable because of how bright it is and has a nice clean white beam a medium sized hotspot but also plenty of spill, making it a nice option for an everyday carry light. Overall this is a great light for the money and seems well made. The USB C charging is a great feature that I like very much and the only downfall is I would have liked this light to come with a magnetic tailcap but this is not deal breaker from me as the light is great in so many other ways. I've already recommended this to my cousin who also bought one and I would recommend again
Review: A must-have bargain flashlight with personality (thanks to Anduril) - This is bright, robust, easy to carry... and a lot of fun really. It's 2,000 lumens are all there but you'll rarely need the full power (it'll get warm when you use it, so a couple of minutes at a time, but do set the temperature and have it step down at around 50deg C, you can do that from the switch too). You recharge the 18650 battery with the USB-C lead that plugs into the torch on the opposite side to the switch and is sealed by a rubber bung (it last well I have a Sofrin SC21 with the same plug), or you can charge if you have a battery charger and it takes any type of 18650 battery (easy to buy at your local vape store) and it lasts a looong time. The torch will warn you when it gets low as well. Good light throw, which is important for me but there's still plenty of light emitted around you (as opposed to more floody flashlights with a less defined central hotspot) But it's the superb Anduril operating system that makes this a very special flashlight for the money, currently. (For ordinary users who don't want to get bogged down with the brilliant software, click the switch six times in rapid succession to set it up and you have a simple flashlight which turns on and off. Easy for the young or old.) However, delve into Anduril and you can chose stepped ramping where the torch gets brighter in six stages, or smooth ramping. Easily selected with three quick clicks. And there's more... so much more. Fancy your torch stood on its end with flickering light like its a candle. You can have than. Or you can make it behave like it's a thunderstorm with random brightness and random speed to simulate lightning strikes during a storm. Now that is a lot of amusement surely. The SC31 Pro also does motion-freezing strobe light - it'll 'freeze' spinning fans and falling water or there's Tactical strobe 'a disorienting strobe light'. 'Can be used to irritate people' says the software developer - or it'll be a beacon if you're lost in the wilds. It does bicycle light too. The Anduril OS is simple once you've spend a few minutes reading the (well laid out) manual. Or you can find plenty online explaining it. The real benefit of this lamp is 1. Its power 2. You get a lot of OS for your money. I bought a Lumintop EDC18 just solely to experience the Anduril operating system - the button fell off within hours. I replaced it with the SC31 Pro and I'm genuinely not disappointed. And if you're not convinced, anyone who remembers making their Apple Mac their own in the mid 1990s will love this flashlight, with Anduril because it instills a little bit of personality: for example, the side switch lights up, but you can select how it lights up and when the torch is sat quietly by your bed or sleeping bag the off the button can be set to show a little flashing heartbeat, it's also sleeping but you'll find it easily in the dark. That is personality in an inanimate object. And you'll love it. Moonlight mode is also good with enough light to find your way about at night without waking anyone. I know it's just a flashlight but there's a huge enthusiast community for flashlights and this is one of the favourites (yes I know they get excited about CRI and LED colour but you don't need to worry about that if you don't want to) and everyone should own one of these. I have an Olight Mini Warrior - beautiful thing - but day to day, I prefer this, it's more powerful and it's a third the price (incidentally, they'll both set fire to paper in turbo mode, the Olight earned negative headlines for that last year, but both are easily locked off when you're not using it. Read the manual). In the future there'll be more flashlights with Anduril. There'll be more powerful flashlights like this in an easy to carry size (LEPs will replace LEDs I'm sure), but today I really believe for the money, this is almost unbeatable. If you haven't used a modern LED torch, then you're in for a pleasant surprise. And if you know modern torches, the SC31 Pro is pretty hard to beat. Looking back I'm coming over as a bit of a fan boy. It ain't perfect but niggles are minor. There's no magnet in the tailcap - all my other torches have it, it's useful for securing the torch while you work - and a diffuser would have been a nice addition to make the candlelight and lamp options better. But I've ordered both from China (that's how much I like this light). My advice, buy it, read the Anduril OS instructions... and have fun. There's room in everyone's life for more than one torch and this one is super capable but also has the power to bring out the kid in you.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: My torch only works when it’s being charged, any suggestions?**
A: It's because you didn't remove the insulation paper inside the torch. There is an black round insulation paper above the battery top. You have to take it down. Otherwise the torch only works when it's being charged. The insulation paper is only for the safety and battery capacity save before being used.

**Q: How can I tell if it is fully charged?**
A: When the battery indicator show the green and charge 4-6 hours, it will full charged

**Q: Where do Sofrin originate?**
A: Shenzhen, China
But the shipping address is Amazon UK warehouse

**Q: Ok, where exactly does the o ring go. it cannot go inside it blocks the electrical contacts. at the base of the threads, it comes out... midway ?**
A: At the base of the threads, just before the clip is the o-ring seat. When the cap is screwedon the 0-ring forms a seal

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Multitude of features, stunning brightness, amazing build quality!
*by O***E on 8 February 2021*

I rarely do reviews unless I am very impressed. I had not heard of Sofirn before, I had bought a couple of Olight torches in their sales, I was watching a review of their new lantern which was rather lacklustre. Someone in the comments put me onto an amazing lantern, the Sofirn BLF LT1, a collaboration between Sofirn and members of the Budget Light Forum, I ended up buying it and was smitten, it is amazing, you can change the colour hue and all sorts. Anyway, I wanted a more powerful torch and decided to check out Sofirn's other offerings. I found this SC31 and I tho say, it is just as amazing as the BLF LT1 lantern. It uses the same Anduril operating system, which gives you a veritable smorgasbord of features, all available by varying combinations of clicks and holds with the button. You switch it on, and you can go from moonlight to a full 2000 lumens turbo (you can set this to do it smoothly or in steps). The turbo will slowly decrease in intensity after about a minute, this is controlled by an onboard thermometer, when it detects the torch as heated to a certain temperature, the torch will automatically with down to protect the circuits. From off, you click, click, then click and hold to get to various setting such as candle light flickering ( really realistic- worth buying a diffuser from Sofirn to diffuse the light, this also mimics a lantern), then you have a flasher suitable for on a bike, then a low intensity strobe light, for parties- you can speed it up or slow it down. Next is a full on powerful tactical strobe light, also changeable from slow to incredibly fast. You can set it to this, use it as a normal torch in the meantime, then if needed, God forbid, you just click, click hold, it will go straight to this last setting, so very, very usable!. After this setting, you can go to a lightening storm effect- also very realistic. I love to put the torch somewhere behind me with this setting on, and play some "nature sounds" of thunder and lightening rainstorm, really atmospheric, more so when camping. The other thing is putting on a "nature sounds" track of a crackling fire with the candle mode, incredibly relaxing! Other modes include a battery check, very useful, a sunset mode, which turns the torch off gradually, a beacon mode and an SOS signal, these to could save your life one day, seriously, if you needed help up a mountainside, trying to attract rescuer's attention! Another feature is the ability to have the torch button shine bright green, flash green or faint green- all the features mention are featured in a simple to understand diagram, showing the two main groups they appear in, and how to get to the groups and navigate between the features in the two groups, it may appear slightly daunting at first, but you soon get to grips with it, as it is quite logical, one thing follows on to the next. If you are lending your torch to a young child, or someone not familiar with it's operating system, there is even a "muggle mode", where only the most basic features are available. There is also a "off lock" you can put it in, so it can't switch on in your pack or pocket. In this mode, it will only work whilst you keep the button pressed, in this mode, you can use it to tap out a morse code message or similar. I think that has covered most features, although you can also set the ceiling of the ramp and a couple of other things. If you really want to get the most out of it's operating system, it is well worth watching some youtube videos, which will help you familiarise yourself with it's features. I am really impressed with Sofirn and this torch, I never knew torches could have such comprehensive features, but it's not just the features, the build quality of both my lantern and this are really quite excellent. They are obviously built to a very high standard, the threads are so smooth to open, the lens is mineral glass, everything looks strong and solid, I know these are built so they will withstand a drop of at least 1 metre, they are IPX8 standard, so are fully waterproof to a depth of 2 metres! They will throw their beam a distance if 200 metres, they have a very intense inner beam, with a less intense much wider beam, so they will light a large room, but throw the bright beam that 200 metres. It is worth noting that if you want to change the direction of the pocket clip from downwards carry, you can just unscrew the body and turn it round the other way, then, hey presto, it's an upwards carry clip! They really have thought of everything, for the money, build quality and features, it really is a none brainer!
