Review: Overlooked gem! - Talk about a happy accident, I just stumbled upon this. What a great all-ages edition! It's beautifully illustrated and colored and has a visual style reminiscent of Disney animation, and that's something I've wanted to see since Disney bought Lucasfilm. (I have my fingers crossed for a new Star Wars animated movie--a new, non-canon story--in the Disney style.) It's also surprisingly well edited. I assumed there would be cuts, given that all three original trilogy stories are retold in the same collection. And I know the movies well enough that I "hear" what's missing as I read the dialogue. But the editorial choices are good, and the core stories remain intact. My hope now is that all the stories in the film series receive the same treatment by the same creative team. (And a line at the end of the book seems to support that.) Great job, Disney!

Talk about a happy accident, I just stumbled upon this. What a great all-ages edition! It's beautifully illustrated and colored and has a visual style reminiscent of Disney animation, and that's something I've wanted to see since Disney bought Lucasfilm.
