Do they go shorter for smaller people?** A: I only used them briefly. I'm only about just over 5 foot myself. I have the extender fully closed down. This is past the last spring button holding hole. It did still stay secure at this position. **Q: Can these be folded down smaller for storage/car space?** A: They can be shortened, but not folded, and they definitly won't fit into a handbag or carrier bag. Brought this new pair for cosmetic reasons only. These are by far the best crutches we have ever brought or used the comfortably of the hand grips are fantastic for long term users. And the flexi foot provides great grip to most surfaces ( not loose gravel ).
