Review: Good stuff. But I learned of something better. - After searching for alternatives to old-fashioned cellulose dope for sealing and strengthening tissue coverings on model airplanes--and finding some of the ones suggested by other model builders to be unsatisfactory--I was intrigued when I stumbled upon a discussion of Eze Dope on line. My search is over. I have tried Eze Dope on a test framework (not wanting to mess up a model I spent a good deal of time constructing) and I am very happy with the results. Happy enough, in fact, that I just ordered an extra bottle to have on hand. Since Eze Dope is best applied thinned with water (the recommended proportion is 30% Eze Dope, 70% water), one container can last a while. There is an excellent article describing in detail the application of Eze Dope in the Jan-Feb 2014 issue of the British magazine AeroModeller. The article is available on line, but I was sent a pdf of it by John Bristow of Deluxe Materials (manufacturer of Eze Dope). And that's another thing: I sent Deluxe Materials a couple of questions about Eze Dope earlier today, and slightly over an hour later had an informative response from Mr. Bristow. Count me a very happy customer. ------------------------Updated 9/17/2019 After reading an article in Model Aviation, I decided to try Minwax Polycrylic (satin finish) thinned with water to 33% Polycrylic. One coat with a wide (1" brush) gave me better results than I got with two or three coats of Eze Dope. See photo. So, while Eze Dope gave me a good enough alternative to nitrated dope as a tissue sealer, Polycrylic is a decidedly better one.
Review: great product - great substitute for old fasioned nitrate and butyrate clear dope and no odor and cleans upwith water

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you also use this stuff to glue the tissue to the balsa framework? If not, what adhesive is recommended?**
A: MY husband uses gorrella glue to glue and then uses ez dope on top of the tissue

**Q: Do you paint eze dope,or do you use colored dope ?**
A: I paint on top of dope

**Q: is this hot fuel proof?**
A: I build primarily stick and tissue. Information on the product label states: Dries fast to a strong, tough non- sagging "fuel proof" and airtight finish.
Also product detail: It is super thin and easily brushes to shrink tissue, drying to a traditional tough "fuel proof" matte finish. I hope this helps and good luck fellow builder.

**Q: Can i use polyfoam brush or should i use acid brush?**
A: I use a polyfoam brush with this. Pretty sure this dope is acrylic based or a dilute white glue.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Incredible product for the hobbyist
*by K***5 on January 15, 2018*

This an incredible product for the hobbyist. It can be used in many other applications, besides coating tissue film over balsa. I use it to seal balsa wood, which when dried, actually makes the wood stronger. You can also use Eze Dope as a glue to apply tissue covering on model airplanes. I also use Eze Dope to finish the tissue covering. I brush it onto the pre-shrunk tissue, letting the Eze Dope dry before applying another coat of it. The strength it gives to tissue is amazing. Best of all, there are no toxic fumes, and since I like using my hands to feel the surface of my work, I can also apply it using my fingers. You can also make wood filler by mixing Eze Dope with talcum powder. It is truly an amazing and handy product for the hobbyist.
