It's heavy duty press board. When put together it lools like real wood. **Q: what is the height of each shelf if they are spaced equally apart? i want to use this to store my scrapbooks which are 12" tall x 12" wide** A: Not all the shelves are adjustable. You should be able to fit your scrapbooks on at least 3 of the shelves. **Q: What color is Jamocha Wood?** A: I ordered this product before and it's like dark brown. Its very nice color. **Q: What is it made out of? Is it wood or particle board?** A: Particle board is the backing.
