I've been using PaintShop Pro for over a decade. When I jumped from X to X6 I decided to be diligent to really learn the program. This book really helps get me up to speed. This is a great and rich graphics program with a very modest purchase price (and no forever fees like Photoshop!). It has great capability beyond just re-touching photos. Too bad there are so few books as guides to what it can do. This volume is a good start. Review: Excellent go to book for PSP - I gave it just 4 stars because, IMHO, there should be some examples to try out with clear and concise step by step instruction. There is none of that. If you want to understand a particular topic, you must read the chapter/s regarding that particular topic. Then try to figure it out on your own. Don't get me wrong here, it is a very good manual. If you have no clue about how to use PSP, this will give you all of the information on how to accomplish or understand the different subjects needed for organizing ("work flow"..why do they have to use complicated titles for stuff?) and editing. For those of us who can't afford Adobe Photo Shop (or even understand it), PSP is affordable and great for more advanced DSL users. It is great for both JPEG and RAW photos. Editing is more advanced. So, if you are new to this advanced technology, you need this book. It will give you a better, fuller knowledge of the program. Am work through Program and Taking "small steps" to learn........I have to read things several times for it to "sink in".
