Review: Quality product! - I read some reviews/did some research before purchasing and found this brand to meet the criteria for what I wanted - variable dosing, micronized, from a reputable supplier (since supplements are not regulated, although I'm not sure what good that would do given the poor/inconsistent quality of regulated generic prescription meds). And affordable. WINNER! It works. Shooed away some of my brain fog. Helped revive libido. Improved energy levels. Improved overall sense of well-being. HISTORY AND EVIDENCE OF BENEFIT OF THIS PRODUCT: I'm already on HRT, using gel estrogen (massive improvement over pill form for me; brand works better than generic, but brand is $$$). Also using Intrarosa to keep things healthy in the southern regions. Am absolutely making the increased co-pay for that since it was a 1000% improvement over cream estrogen. It also has a DHEA type component. But while the HRT adjustments showed improvement, it wasn't quite enough. Still had too much brain fog for my liking, was still carrying the post-hysterectomy weight gain, and still just leggy. QUICK RESULTS WITH THIS DHEA It only took a couple of days to see the improvement with ONE dose of this DHEA. Energy returned, clarity of thought, and reduction in PMS (awful issue of hysterectomy is that you still get PMS, which had gotten much worse in recent years). I can tell the days I miss taking my dose. It makes that big of a difference. IT *IS* A LARGE PILL TO TAKE SUBLINGUAL Being impatient, I snap mine into quarters and shove those under my tongue so I don't have to wait so long. Some days I just quarter it and take it with water, although SL route would work better. They could improve this aspect a bit, but it's not a deal-breaker. Not much of a taste to it. MORE DOESN'T ALWAYS EQUAL BETTER Have had a couple PMS days where I took two doses, one later in the day, and it did improve everything (energy, focus, not screaming at people using leaf blowers) but I also didn't sleep as well those nights. I had taken DHEA (non-micro) before and it just gave me a headache and additional brain fog, so I wanted to start slow with this dose and move up only as needed. That approach worked well for me. Did they lose their mixer or their measuring spoons down at the factory? I finally labeled my Rx bottles each month and kept them separate so that I could use the Feb levo-heavy leftovers (and there were def leftovers - jeez, some days 6 hours of hummingbird-ing is enough!) to get my brain organized enough to do stuff on "sit/stew" days, and kept those March dextro-heavy "sit/stew" leftovers to allow productivity on more "hummingbird" kind of days. That actually seems to work. Who knew you'd need a sommelier for a prescription med that's supposed to be the same every time but most definitely is not the same, ever? I appreciate the other 101 variables factoring in here, but after taking these meds for 14 years, this is not in my head and it's not all outside factors - the meds just are not consistent at all. DHEA - DEFINITELY HELPING ADHD & ADHD MEDS- Despite the aforementioned issues, the DHEA seems to do a good job of "holding hands" with the ADHD meds and at the very least, help you keep out of the other-issue-oriented brain fog long enough to self-assess what you need to do/take get things done. Review: Life saver! Superior Product! - Douglas Labs is a trusted brand and recommended by my endocrinologist. My endo recommended I take DHEA after bloodwork came back low. I have experienced increased energy, a bit more focus and most notably better muscle strength and recovery. I have chronic Adrenal Insufficiency (Addison’s) and also a woman in my fourties so my hormones are completely out of whack and I’m always exhausted. For the last several years, anytime I would work out, I would pay for it the next day and I never seemed to be able to build muscle. In taking just 10 mg a day, I can notice a considerable amount of strength in my muscles. I have experienced an pimple or or two here and there but nothing to keep me from taking this. I was worried about facial hair but haven’t experienced any issues with that. No issues with weight gain, I think it would help with weight loss, having more energy and strength to work out. Only down side or unfavorable side effect would be irritability; less patience with people. It’s very subtle at only 10 mgs a day, but would imagine if I increased the dose it would be more prominent. I take the 10mgs in the morning, and sometimes another 2.5 or 5 mgs in the late afternoon if I plan to work out after work or stay up late. **Q: Is this pharmacologically pure dhea?**
A: Our product is not synthetic like most pharmacological products, the source is wild yam which DHEA is extracted during processing and final product tested for purity.

**Q: Help me out here...serving size is one bisected tablet.(i'm assuming 1/2 half)...amount per serving is 5mg....so is one (1) whole tablet 10mg?**
A: No, serving size of 5 mg is 1 tablet (each has a slight line thru the middle which may be a guide if you want to take only 2.5mg.) but there are definitely 100 tablets in bottle and "servings per container" are 100.

**Q: Is there a difference between the original formula and the micronized formula?**
A: The DHEA in the Douglas Laboratories - DHEA 5 mg is micronized in particle size, which increases absorption.

**Q: What is mannitol?  It is listed as one of the ingredients.**
A: I saw nothing on my bottle that said mannitol. The other ingredient on mine says cellulose (gelcap). It is a fiber substance found in plant walls. Has many uses, one is making gelcaps. Mannitol is a prescription diuretic. Would not be in a supplement like this one. There is a sugar called mannose, but it is not listed on my bottle. My dhea is the 10mg.
