A: Hey there, and thanks for this great question! This food processor is ideally suited for foods that are mostly solid, while a blender may be a better option for items with a lot of liquid. The food processor may be able to ‘blend’ some items but will not necessarily result in the same consistency that you would get with a blender; it wouldn’t be interchangeable with one, and blending isn’t considered one of its primary functions. The unit has various functions including chopping, shredding/slicing and pureeing – if you wish, you can view the Use and Care manual to determine whether it would fit all your needs. A: You push the cord into the base only the plug will be out

**Q: How many blades actually come with this model?**
A: 7 if I recall correctly. 1 primary. 1 spare for the primary. 1 plastic version that looks like the primary. 4 circular specialty blades.
