It. Went for Philips medical device in place of this idea ### ⭐ CHEAP intercom.....and not in a good way *by C***E on August 14, 2014* I wanted a cheaper intercom system to use in my home to talk from level to level. This item is CHEAP enough that it doesnt work properly. I read all the directions and installed it properly. The static coming from the devices were unbelivable. So, we tried them in another room. There is a loud screatching, almost alarm sounding noise that comes from it. There is NO volume control at all on either device so you have to place your hand over it to see if it will go away within a few seconds. If you pick up the device it works, but like I said there is no volume control, so the person talking on the other end has to whisper. And after you click the button once to relay a message, there is that annoying high pitch alarm sound again. There was no interference that were in the rooms I tried this in.
