Can I swap the front barrel of ballpoint pen with the one on mechanical pencil?

I took a look at my set and while the actual body is the same, the tip that guides the pencil lead seems to be attached to the front end of the barrel which prevents the chamber from coming out to swap. If you managed to detach the tip then yes, but not sure how you would re-attach it...
