I embarrassingly have never changed the filter until now, and didn’t even realize the purple part screws off to be replaced as it’s one of the filters. They were very easy to install and I will do an update over time to report on durability, but I don’t anticipate any issues. For this Dyson you need the oblong shaped filter for the back of the machine. I have a Dyson V8 and the oblong filter fit fine. **Q: Will this fit Dyson v7 allergy?** A: If it uses these type of filters I would think so.
