I get intermittent small reddish flash. Not sure how to interpret this? Pull the recoil starter rope & look at the light?** A: Yes, if it starts the light will flash everytime the sparkplug sparks. If it does not start the light will flash everytime the sparkplug gets power and then you know it is not an electrical problem. It can then be either a bad sparkplug or a fuel problem. If it does not flash when you pull the rope then it is an electrical malfunction (ie. magneto, points, or electronic ignition problem).
