My flies never come apart after being in and out of water all day. Since there are many types of rubber material, you might contact Crazy Glue customer support to see if it will work for your application. **Q: Is this glue ok to use on something that will hold food?** A: This product is not FDA approved. We do not recommend using it on areas of items that may come in contact with food or the mouth. **Q: Can you use this instead of modeling glue?** A: This glue is recommended on ceramic, plastic, wood, glass, porcelain, metal, leather, rubber and vinyl. **Q: Can I use this to fix my retainer?** A: No. Won’t work. I think if you let it dry it shouldn’t act as an irritant. But, retainers are acrylic and will flex, while superglue is cyanoacrylate and doesn’t so it will just crack again under function. If you are super handy you could cut some grooves into the retainer and buy some acrylic powder and liquid and piece it back together.
