How strong is the hold of it? How shiny is it?** A: I have short hair and I apply it while my hair is wet. After drying, my hair has more volume but is definitely not "crunchy". I would call the hold moderate and have not noticed that it gives my hair any shine. **Q: Why did they discontinue the melting gel? this stuff does not even come close. after years of using the melting gel, i will have to switch brands** A: I like this better than melting gel. **Q: Do this gel give that wet hair look or does your hair just look dry?** A: This gel is extremely wet for some reason I do not recommend it unless you are going for a wet look.
