Prior to this I had them all in a bin and it was very annoying to locate the ones I needed. I got this dumbbell weight rack in the color green - it is a very nice lime green which I am very happy with. Warning that it does have a weird smell when you first open it. Assembling this was relatively easy. I actually referred to a YouTube video (titled: CAP Dumbbell rack Kit with 150 LBS of Dumbbells ....desertcart DEAL) to make sure I was doing everything correctly, as the directions included are not super clear. You WILL need an adjustable wrench to assemble this; you will not be able to tighten the nuts without a wrench. Use the adjustable wrench (not included) to hold the nuts in place, then spin the screws with the included Allen Wrench until tight. Or vice versa, hold the Allen Wrench to keep the screws in place and spin nuts with the wrench until tight. There is one extra washer included. Currently I have all of my dumbbells from 2lbs to 10lbs. Even the small 2lb weights fit perfectly. At this time I do not have anything heavier than 10lbs, but it appears that there is more than enough spacing on the rack to store the dumbbells! I also appreciate that these come with a rubber liner to hold the weights - these are already installed on the rack, no need to assemble them yourself! Overall I find it to be very sturdy, compact, and does exactly what it's supposed to do! Also if you're like me, you might be wondering if you can store stuff under the A frame... while there is a bar across the bottom, it doesn't stick up very far. Need more washers. Anyone experienced same problem?** A: This type of nut is called a lock nut. The purpose of the nylon bushing is to prevent the nut from loosening. So yes, you have to use a wrench and tighten the bolt all the way through the bushing until the nut is snug against the frame. Its actually a good design choice. If tightened properly it will hold well and not come loose with the repeated stress from taking the dumbbells on and off the rack. Also, best to use a wrench if you have one to avoid stripping or damaging the nut. **Q: Will this rack hold cast iron dumbells?** A: Yes it should, provided you stay within the weight limit (size) of 25# maximum in the bottom slot.The 'problem' per say, is the spacing between the slot positions.It is designed to hold pairs of 5#, 10#, 15#, 20#, and 25#If you try to move the weights up to allow for a higher weight value as I wanted(10#, 15#, 20#, 25# and 30#)they won't physically fit as the slots are too close together.In my case the 20# in slot #3 would not go in as it hit the 15# weight in slot #2.Hope this helps! **Q: is it hard to put together** A: Read the Warning Label on the box: "Contains chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects". This warning used to be part of the product description on Amazon, but it has been removed for some reason. I believe these toxic chemicals are what is causing the nasty odor that everybody is complaining about. Spend a little more money and get a product that isn't toxic. I returned this product for 3 reasons: 1- the cancer risk. 2- the horrible smell. 3- the tight fit where you set down the dumbbells is so tight that you can easily smash your fingers. You really have to be careful with this unit not to pinch your fingers. Other units are better. The 3-tier APEX unit is awesome; the safety features alone are worth the extra dollars. Peace. **Q: This new rack has stained my pretty colored vinyl dumbbells. Any ideas how to clean rack/remove this greasy substance before my dumbells are ruined?** A: This is a nice space saver, but not vinyl friendly. The soft material used when heated up (sun light) releases oils. Removing the pads would have the burs (edge) of the metal cut into the vinyl coating, but that could be treated by buying a small roll of some plastic or Teflon Edge Trim (not rubber), then cut to size, should be at any hardware store. Good value for the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice rack *by N***K on September 6, 2025* This is a nice rack to hold my dumbbells. I have a set of 10, 12, 15, and 20 pound neoprene weights. This rack has protectors on each shelf to help prevent the handle of the weight from getting damaged and it kinda works for the neoprene weights. I’m extra careful setting them on the rack. If you aren’t, the rack will tear up the handles of the dumbbells and ruin them. I’ve thought about putting some thing else on there to help protect them but haven’t got around it. Other than that, the frame feels sturdy and has held up just fine for the 9 months I’ve owned it. It was super easy to put together and doesn’t take up too much space.
