BEFORE you turn the fresh water on, make sure either the black or gray valve on your unit is open after you close the valve on the flush king . If you turn on the fresh water and ALL the valves are closed, the pressure can easily cause the unit to disconnect and break off some of the plastic hooks that hold the flush king in place. **Q: My sewer hose stays connected to the rv. If I buy another sewer hose to connect to black side, can I connect the clear side to the other hose?** A: The clear end - with the four locking 'ears' - is designed to lock onto the four pins on the end of the rigid drain pipe of your RV. If you have a flexible hose attached to the end of the rigid pipe you likely can attach the Reverse RV Flush valve assembly to the end of the hose, but as most hoses have the four ear bayonet mount on only ONE end of the hose, and no connecting fitting on the discharge end of the hose, you'll likely need another four pin hose end like that available in a kit such as the Camco 39543 RV Twist Connect Kit Sewer Fitting from Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Camco-39543-Twist-Connect-Fitting/dp/B000BQR8TE/ref=sr_1_27?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1393204739&sr=1-27&keywords=camco - if you wish to install the RV Flush Valve between two flexible hoses. (Not certain why you'd want to go this route... I find it much easier to attach the RV Flush Valve directly to the RV's rigid pipe, then attach flexible hose(s) to it to reach the sewage tank, but I don't leave any of the items attached permanently.) Remember - this is designed to do TWO different tasks. #1 - allows fresh water to flow backwards through the rigid drain pipe, thus allowing water to flow into both the grey and black water tanks, which then are emptied - perhaps more than once. (Many newer RVs have built-in 'sprinkler' type devices inside their holding tanks to allow fresh water to flush the tanks, but for older RVs like mine this Flush Valve does a fantastic job. #2 - fresh water discharged from the holding tanks flush out the valve and drain hose(s). **Q: Is it me or should the hose inlet be facing the black water tank to help flush the tank?** A: All trailers are different angle pipes so it can't be made like that. The design of this is not to spray a water jet up the pipe but to back up fresh water into the tank to flush it out (rather than stand on the peddle of the toilet for 10 minutes). Because of how easy it is to do, I will flush it in the middle of the camping trip if i get bored and keep the smell down that way. Anyway, there are flushers designed to shoot a jet up the black water pipe, but they have very poor reviews because you only get one angle which most likely wont reach the tank because of trailers all being made with different angle pipes. **Q: Would this work with a 2004 170p roadtrek class b camping van rv? i'm a newbie rver. don't quite understand the concept...** A: It appears you have a macerater pump on your unit that pumps the waste out thru a small hose. The f02-4350 is for a different system (gravity) with a three inch hose. It is so you can hook a garden hose to it and add water to the holding tanks to flush out. No it will not work on your system. They do make a sprayer that can be installed to the side of the tank to rinse it out. Hope this helps you. No chemicals needed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great and ensures a clean tank. *by on Reviewed in Canada 24 August 2019* This is the second type of back-flush attachment I have tried the first orange one with a 360 swivel blow apart on me while flushing, not the best experience. I figured this was due to the weakness of the swivel design, so this one being fixed does not have that potential flaw. I have to say on receipt I was impressed just how well made a sturdy this was, look stronger than the previous one. Having now given this a good test, I have to say, get one. The amount of additional waste I flushed was shocking, but I also noticed that I did not get any unpleasant smells while camping. So a really clean tank is a happy tank. I only have a small trailer, so smaller tanks, but back filling did not really take much time at all, flow from the hose attachment was significant and strong, enough to flush more out without back-filling. If you want a clean tank get one, then you'll wonder why you never purchased one sooner. Now for the observations; I found it a little annoying that the hose connection brings the hose right over the main dump valve on the device. While it does not stop you using it you do need to turn the valve handle 90 degrees to open it as the hose is in the way. Just wondering why they did not offset the hose connection and valve by 90 degrees, it does look like something you could do yourself, but its does not affect functionality. The other observation is one of time, to do the backflush it does take time and if its a single dump station you can end up with people waiting. I performed 2 full back flushes last time out which takes around 20-30 minutes with the initial dump, so allow for that. That said we waited for the trailer in front of us to dump and use their internal flush system, which was not much quicker anyway. Would recommend, but please get a separate hose for this only as we have seen people using their fresh water hose, which is not to be recommended, we have the bright orange hose so there's no mistakes.
