The weight of the knife helps us to cut thinly sliced bread. The edge is sharp out of the box and the handle fits nicely in our hands. We had a really cheap bread knife and replaced it with this. We knew there were better and more expensive knives but this was one we decided to try and it works very well. Also it sharpens easily.
